Yorkshire Weekender!

2nd - 4th June 2023

Weekend away with the girls following some lovely hikes!

We took a trip away to a lovely cottage in Yorkshire, it was in the middle of nowhere surrounded by horses and sheep, including Dolly that thought she was a dog and wanted to play. We have nothing but fields and hills around us, over looking Some of the Yorkshire three peaks while doing yoga and stretches in the morning, what more could you ask for. Well! Having a BBQ under the sunset, setting intensions and burning them under the full moon or some pure girly time, either way I was relaxed and nothing was really going to change that deep down!

We took a trip to Malham cove on Saturday with a group, there was a little bit of a wild swim or in my case some feet dips :P There were wild cows running towards us for some cold water, some Highland cows at the side of the road too. We got to see a famous area that part of Harry Potter was made...apparently? Not being a Harry Potter fan, it just goes over the top of my head. Malham Cove and Janet's Foss are definitely one's to visit if you have never been before. It is a lovely area, although very popular with hikes and day trippers. You can scramble up the waterfall as we did or go around it, choice is yours! I would personal recommend the scramble, it is more fun and gets you to the top quicker. You can do so many different routes around this area, I have been 3 times now and never done the same route! The route we did is easy enough for most people, It was a lovely day and a lovely walk, nothing hard going about it. Something most people would enjoy completing.

On the Sunday we headed off to Hebden Bridge for a hike within the woodlands. It was the hottest day of the year so far so we were happy to be in the shady areas at times. There is a lovely waterfall we didn't reach that is worth a visit and also part of the way round there is a café and toilets...What more could a hiker ask for really! No wild wee for us on Sunday! Hebden bridge is a stunning area with plenty of smaller walks to do, lots of places to see and visit and plenty of places for food and drink, I shall definitely be going back there. Hebden bridge is perfect for the animals and the kids, full of trees and running water for them all to play in. We even got our feet wet again and done some more feet dips in the water!

Overall I have to recommend Yorkshire, I have always loved any part I have been to and I will 100% be back there soon!
